How would you describe your solution in a few words?
neustark removes CO₂ from the atmosphere and stores it permanently in concrete. The material enriched in this way enables the cement content in fresh concrete to be reduced to the regulatory minimum. This not only binds carbon dioxide, but also reduces new emissions in the production process.
By 2050, neustark aims to reduce CO₂ emissions from the global construction industry by 1 billion tons per year.
Who are your customers?
The neustark solution generates value for an entire value network consisting of biogas plant operators (CO₂ source), concrete recyclers, concrete plants, builders and CO₂ certificate customers.
What are the environmental benefits of your solution?
7% of global CO₂ emissions come from concrete production. Using our equipment, concrete producers can permanently store CO₂ removed from the air in their products. In the process, the CO₂ is irreversibly fixed through mineralization.
We already store around 10 kg of CO₂ per cubic meter of fresh concrete. In addition, up to 20 kg of CO₂ emissions per ton of fresh concrete can be avoided. By further developing our technology, we will multiply these values. In combination with comprehensive international scaling, we hope to reduce CO₂ emissions in the construction industry by 1 billion tons per year by 2050.
