How would you describe your solution?

Electric mobility is booming, causing the demand for lithium batteries to rise rapidly. However, the production of the batteries is resource-intensive.

KYBURZ has developed a novel battery recycling process that recovers over 90% of the raw materials used in the batteries’ production without the use of chemicals. The novel process enables the resource loop to be closed. This process is at the core of the whole life of a battery. After their first use in new vehicles, they are given a second life in factory-revised vehicles and a third in energy storage systems. It extends the life of the batteries many times over.

Who are your customers?

Our solution covers different customer groups: Private individuals and companies who use electric vehicles as well as customers who are looking for sustainable energy storage. Each of our batteries will return to our premises where we will recycle it and close the

resource loop.

How do you manage to exist on the market?

Experts expect the demand for batteries to multiply in the future. As a result, battery recycling is gaining in importance worldwide. Our innovative solution enables the recovery of the resources used in batteries. This process can be carried out profitably by selling them. Thus, for the first time the process makes it possible to close the resource loop in a sustainable way. If the recycled resources are used again for the production of new batteries, a stable, self-sufficient system is created that benefits from a inexpensive raw material input and the independence of conventional raw material sources.
