How would you describe your solution in a few words?

SIGNATURE 100 is the world’s first aseptic packaging material 100% linked to forest-based renewable materials, suitable for liquid dairy products. The composite without aluminum foil is made from up to 82% responsibly sourced FSC™-certified paperboard. SIGNATURE 100 replaces fossil-based with forest-based renewable plastics via a certified mass balance system.

Like all SIG packaging SIGNATURE 100 is fully recyclable and produced with 100% renewable energy. SIGNATURE 100 reduces the carbon footprint versus standard SIG packaging materials by up to 58% (proven by independent, critically reviewed ISO-conform Life Cycle Assessments).

Who are your customers?

SIGNATURE 100 is the perfect fit for European dairy producers who aim to play a pioneering role in sustainability and wish to differentiate their products with a packaging material linked to 100% forest-based renewable materials, offering both on-shelf appeal and stand-out environmental credentials.

What are the environmental benefits of your solution?

SIG beverage cartons using standard packaging material are already the lowest impact carbon footprint choice compared with alternative packaging options. Our industry-leading SIGNATURE 100 further reduces the carbon footprint by up to 58% compared with SIG standard structures – proven by ISO-conform Life Cycle Assessments.

SIG uses tall oil as its forest-based renewable feedstock – a by-product of the paper industry – rather than a crop grown on agricultural land that could otherwise be used for food. Committed to limiting the use of finite natural resources, SIG’s choice of raw materials contributes to a circular economy.

How do you manage to exist on the market?

SIG is a leading systems and solutions provider for aseptic carton packaging. We work in partnership with our customers to bring food and beverage products to consumers around the world in a safe, sustainable, and affordable way.

Our unique technology and outstanding innovation capacity enable us to provide our customers with end-to-end solutions for differentiated products, smarter factories, and connected packs – all to address the ever-changing needs of consumers.

Sustainability is integral to our business, and we are on the Way Beyond Good to create a net positive food packaging system.
