How would you describe your solution in a few words?
HealTech prepregs is a ground-breaking innovation in the field of self-healing composites, enabling the production of composite structures that can heal damage on site in 1 minute. Composites are widely used in many industries such as aerospace, automotive, and sport but are sensitive to damage; current repair solutions are costly and time consuming; and recycling is still mostly inexistent.
CompPair tackles these composite limitations and leads a paradigm change for the industry: HealTech products offer a tougher resin, an improved repair process and an improved recycling process, resulting in a lower Life cycle analysis (LCA), reducing CO2 emissions and contributing to reach the UN SDGs.
Who are your customers?
Our customers are part manufacturers and OEMs with damage repair issues and the need to produce more sustainable composites. We are currently active in the leisure industry and have projects in the energy and aerospace ones.
What are the environmental benefits of your solution?
Our innovation is a regenerative resin for composites, enabling a 1-minute repair and better end-of-life management. It provides:
- A lower environmental footprint thanks to our resin’s chemistry
- Out-of-autoclave processing: Lower CO2 emissions for this procedure, compared to many traditional processes for high performance composites
- Life-time extension: lower CO2 emissions during manufacturing but also during lifetime (due to repair)
- Recycling the part at its end of life (a) efficient process and (b) reuse of recovered materials
How do you manage to exist on the market?
Despite the potential to be applied globally in the composites industry, we have built a specific plan to penetrate and grow efficiently. First we industrialized and de-risked the production of our products. Then, we are focusing on three specific verticals: (i) leisure; (ii) wind; (iii) aerospace. The growth of our team enables to have the necessary skills to secure our market penetration with this solution.
