New recycling plant for fridges
Immark
Scroll-down Scroll down

How would you describe your solution in a few words?

The new recycling plant sets new standards in Switzerland and throughout Europe in terms of state-of-the-art technology and processing capacity. By means of two-stage processing, pollutants are extracted, liquefied and filled in the first step. The oil is separated and degassed and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. In the next processing step, the material is crushed and separated by type. As a result, more than 90% of the recovered secondary raw materials are returned to the recycling loop and, at the same time, environmentally hazardous blowing agents are rendered harmless.

Who are your customers?

Our customers include all collection points for e-waste, such as retailers, manufacturers, and public and private collection points.

What are the environmental benefits of your solution?

Natural resources are conserved, secondary raw materials are returned to the life cycle and pollutants are rendered harmless.

Conclusion: For every 1 ton of refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners disposed of, an average of 11.68 million UBP (environmental impact points) are saved (source: SENS).

How do you manage to exist on the market?

Immark is part of the Thommen Group – one of the largest recycling groups in Switzerland, which is managed by Dr. Tobias Thommen in the third generation. The Thommen Group stands for sustainable recycling solutions using state-of-the-art technology. It processes a wide variety of recyclable materials according to their type and in an environmentally friendly manner, in order to return them to the production cycle as secondary raw materials. With a consistent focus on customer needs and a willingness to invest, we are constantly improving our recycling rate.
