How would you describe your solution in a few words?
LEDCity is developing a sensor-controlled lighting system that saves an average of 90 percent energy compared to conventional light sources by automatically adjusting the light to the actual light duration and intensity required. Thanks to the lower power consumption and the longer service life of the light source, a total of around CHF 300-500 can be saved per LEDCity product used. Up to five sensors are integrated in each lamp. The data collected in this way can also be used to optimise operation.
Who are your customers?
As our products can be used in a variety of applications such as underground car parks, offices or warehouses, our customers are from many industries. For example, companies from the real estate industry, the public sector or hotels have a high savings potential.
What are the environmental benefits of your solution?
By using the LEDCity lighting system, a total of around 90 percent more energy can be saved than with conventional fluorescent tubes. In addition, LEDCity. products have a significantly better overall eco-balance than competitor products. So far, together with our 370 customers, we have already been able to save around 42,200,000 kWh, 7,650,000 kg of CO2 and the annual electricity consumption of 14,050 households.
How do you manage to exist on the market?
Since our foundation in 2021, we have been able to finance ourselves through our own income and research funds. We only had our seed funding round in 2021 and are planning our first Series A to scale faster.
Our solution is not only environmentally friendly, but also economical. Customers save more energy with our products than with those of our competitors, which is why their energy bills fall more. Therefore, switching is profitable for them and the investment pays off for them from day one.
